Leonardo Fioravanti gets injured at Volcom Pipe Pro

Today the Italian surfer, Leonardo Fioravanti, got injured quite seriously during his heat at Volcom Pipe Pro. Leonardo, looking for a good score, fell on a 6 ft. bomb. The lip of the wave threw him against the reef. Being unable to move, Leonardo was promptly rescued by lifeguards and taken to the beach. An ambulance, then, transported him to the hospital in Honolulu.

From the latest controls, Leonardo has torn the ligaments of the back and broken two vertebrae. He will have to wear a back brace for 4-8 weeks. This accident is unlucky because this year Leonardo will try to qualify for the WCT (World Championship Tour), but we are sure that Leo will come back stronger than before. Go Leo!!!
